How to Become a Copywriter When You’re Still Working?

Maybe you work full time, but you want to do copywriting part time – so you can make extra cash?

How can you balance the two?

How do you start a business, and not leave your passion for copywriting just a dream but a reality and create a business that supports you financially?

Here are some solutions:

1. Reduce the hours you work. Ask your employer if you can go part-time, or work fewer hours.

2. Change your job, so you have a more flexible work schedule.

3. Put up a website. Use it to get enquiries. Use a company name, rather than your personal name, for the time being. Get a phone exclusively for your business. Leave it on voicemail during working hours. As soon as you finish work, pick up your voice messages and return people’s calls. Explain that you are still working part-time, that you usually respond after 5pm, and this means you will be great value.

4. Help out your friends, and get them to give you a testimonial. It will make you look as though you’re a professional.
