This was the best thing I ever did in my life. This course has given me the confidence and ability to walk into a marketing agency and introduce myself with only my portfolio made up of assignments I did during my course, and I landed a job! No application process or CV required. Thank you thank you Blackford for giving me such a marvellous start to my copywriting career.

Thanks to all of you and especially to my tutor Richard Owsley. You don’t know in what a happy place I am right now because I made an awesome choice to study with you guys.

I now work at a marketing agency that provides full marketing services, from websites to social media marketing. I work in the content department where I write articles on loads of different subjects like travelling, healthcare, fashion you name it!

I am learning how to do send out social media posts to various platforms at once and I am gaining a lot of hands-on SEO experience and learning how to do stuff like back linking which I didn’t quite understand before.

As I go along I will also start writing newsletters and designing infographics.
Everyone is super nice and helpful, giving me a chance to find my feet.

Speaking of feet, my job is walking distance from my home and I’m thinking of getting myself a bicycle.

Well that’s my story. Hope it inspires others to just get up and market themselves as I did.

My tip to students: Forget online and newspaper ads that advertise available positions.

Make a list of agencies in the area and introduce yourself in person because believe me when I say they’ll need your help soon enough.
