When Will You Have Enough Knowledge to Call Yourself a Copywriter?
Sometimes people ask me, ‘Will the Diploma course enough for me to practise as a copywriter? Do I need more knowledge and experience than that?
Well, I had a teacher once who told me: “If you read one book on copywriting you’ll know more than 90% of the population.
He went on: “If you read two books and do a tutored course, you’ll know more than 95% of the population.
“And if you read two books, do a course, and practise for one year, you’ll know more than 99% of the population.”
In other words, we often know more than we think we do. We assume that others have more knowledge than they do.
We deprecate our own skills, and over-estimate others’abilities. And why do we do that? It’s often our own self-doubt. That’s what holds us back. We sometimes think we’ll never have enough knowledge. That amounts to self-sabotage. It stops us from moving forwards towards our chosen goal.
Sometimes we just have to put our doubts to one side and go for it.
PS Have you heard about my one-to-one coaching programme? It’s for people who would prefer a mentor rather than doing a copywriting course. Click here https://www.inst.org/copywriter/
