I’ve recently started setting up my own business at home, which I’ve called My Poochies Groomer. It’s going so well I’m grooming 5 days a week or more. I’ve groomed over 55 dogs from a Lion dog to a Micro tea cup Yorkshire terrier, I’ve had aggressive, terrified, hyper dogs but with the help of the course work provided on the course I knew how to handle any situation.

My advertising has been mainly word of mouth being told im a excellent loyal groomer, who provides great information on the care and health of their dogs and all the clients will be coming back. im currently building my grooming kit up and I’m taking less time to finish with the grooming time, I’ve grown so much confidence. Ive made up my business cards as I’ve had so people asking for friends and family. I’ve gone on to making loyalty cards as im having clients coming back frequent.

We’ve started to build a cabin in my garden for the grooming, having young children it’s easier to work from home, they love seeing all the different doggies coming through. I’ve set out a plan for the future to open my own shops in different areas of the country.

The blackford centre helped me so much and I will be signing up for another course expanding my business including dog training.

The photos I sent of the cocker spaniel Bessy, she was my first rescue dog she was so scared and nervous, after I finished the groom she became bouncy and loving life again.”
